Dorothy “Dot” Louise (Bramblett) Norvell, age 93 of New Castle, passed from this life into eternity to join loved ones on December 23, 2022. Dot was born at home on October 31, 1929 in Henry County, Kentucky to the late Forrest and Alene Bramblett. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Wyatt Norvell, and her sister, Wanda Norman.

 

Dot is survived by four children, Betsye (Tom) Horton of Marco Island, Florida, Ann Robison of Louisville, Lynn (Vickie) Norvell of Louisville and Glenn (Teresa) Norvell of Lexington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steve Horton, Andy Powell, Leann Hinderer, Kristen Engelhardt, Heather Rothfuss, Julie Ransdell, Brent Kiffer and Beth Tingle, and by twenty great grandchildren, as well as her nephew, Kenny Way and great nephew, Aric Way.

 

Dot loved the Lord Jesus Christ and loved her entire family with commitment and generosity. She was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church New Castle, Kentucky for over seventy years. Family and friends knew that she was a wonderful cook and hostess. She loved her home on the hill, her neighbors in New Castle and the people of Henry County. She was very grateful for the wonderful staff at Twin Oaks Assisted Living in New Castle.

 

Services will be held at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 28. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM with a funeral following at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at the New Castle Cemetery immediately following. Active pallbearers will be Steve Horton, Andy Powell, Matt Technow, Brent Kiffer, Matt Ransdell, Eric Henderer and Kenny Way. Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Ray Payton, Larry Welch, Linda Stewart, Betty Jo Casey, Elaine Johnson, Cecil McCarty, Peggy McCarty, Greg McCarty, Gene Garrett, Evelyn Garrett and Mary Arnett Roberts.

 

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church, 47 E. Cross Main St., New Castle, Kentucky 40050.
