Jennifer L. (Newman) Smoot, age 76 of Louisville, passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital on Friday, January 27, 2023. Daughter of the late Everett Gayle and Zenah Doris (Bryant) Newman, she was a member of Westport Road Baptist Church. A native of Henry County, she graduated from Henry County High School in 1964 and then obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown College and a Master of Arts in Education from Western Kentucky University. A retired teacher, Jennifer taught for over two decades at Tully Elementary School in Jeffersontown. After years in the classroom, she taught at risk 1^st graders as a reading recovery teacher and mentored aspiring teachers.

Funeral Service: 1 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241. Reverend Chip Pendleton, Officiating.
