Rev. James H. Weeks, age 80 of New Castle, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017. Son of the late Harrison and Thelma (Sleeseman) Weeks, Jim graduated from Asbury University. He was a United Methodist Minister and also pastored at the Evangelical Friends Church for many years in Winona, Ohio; Eden, North Carolina & Adrian, Michigan.  Rev. James H. Weeks was the former Executive Director of Christian Fellowship Foundation, Inc., former Pastor of Smyrna Presbyterian Church, and former Pastor of Brandt Methodist Church.  He also worked for Oral Roberts Ministries, Bible Literature International and Feed the Children.   Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Weeks, and a brother, Rev. Max Weeks.


Throughout his career in ministry, Rev. Weeks has taken groups on mission trips to Mexico, spending time at El Rancho Del Rey, a ministry, school and home for boys in Monterey, Mexico. He has shared the scriptures preaching on the Mount of Olives in the Holy Land, spending time also in Italy and Greece. His ministry of music was shared across the United States throughout many congregations singing, accompanied by his wife, Wanda, playing the piano, organ and Vibra Harp. Gifted with a beautiful voice, Rev. Weeks and Wanda have shared their talents evangelizing and changing lives. Rev. Weeks also reached out to his community through radio broadcasts as his sermons were heard in the Eden, North Carolina area while Pastoring at Immanuel Friends Church. Preaching his first sermon at the age of sixteen, Rev. Weeks has lived a full life dedicated to serving our Lord and Savior.  "Well done, My good and faithful Servant."

Great-Grandchildren:  Katie, Kaiden, Christina, Bentley, Eli, & Tristan,


Funeral Service: 2 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Andrew Weeks.    Bro. Cory Murashige, pastor of New Castle United Methodist Church, will be assisting.  Burial will follow in New Castle Cemetery.

Visitation: 11:00 AM until service time on Monday at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

A bereavement meal and time of fellowship will be at New Castle United Methodist Church immediately following the graveside service.
