Woodrow W. "Peck" Payton, age 95 of Campbellsburg passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017.  Woodrow was a farmer and an Army WW II Sergeant with a Bronze Star.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and a Life Long Member of the TERMITES.  Woodrow was the son of the late William Thomas & Myrtie Mae (Ethington) Payton and was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Croxton, Gladys McCarty & Naomi Hall and two brothers, Cecil & Hubert Payton.

Wife:               Harriett (Crecelius) Payton of Campbellsburg

 

Daughters:     Peggy Reeves of Louisville

                        Kathy Lesmeister (Steve) of Louisville

                        Lisa Carper (Chris) of Owensboro

 

Sons:               Mike & Bruce Payton both of Campbellsburg

 

6 Grandchildren:  Chris Reeves (Jordan), Katie Cummins (Josh), Craig Lesmeister (Jordan), Eric Lesmeister,  Abby Payton & Kalen Carper

 

7 Great-Grandchildren:  Jack, Mitchell, Sam, Emalyn, Bennett, Annie Frances & Kayden

 

Funeral Service:  2 PM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Mike Frey, pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church and assisted by Dr. Corky Klingenfus.


Interment:  New Castle Cemetery
