Nina Lee (Mccoun) Mason

Nina Lee (McCoun) Mason , age 89 of New Castle, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her residence with her loving family by her side. Daughter of the late Herbert Harlin, Sr. and Cletis Evelyn (Toll) McCoun. She was a faithful member of New Castle Methodist Church for many years, where she served on the Board of Trustees. Graduating from Henry County High School as Class President, she was honored to be Miss Henry County in 1953. A dedicated citizen of New Castle, she volunteered with the Henry County EMS and was once awarded citizen of the year by the New Castle Lions Club. A loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to taking care of her family. Known as a wonderful baker, her homemaking skills extended beyond her home and family. She enjoyed gardening and collecting marbles with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George R. Mason, Sr., and her brother, Burney C. McCoun.

8 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Service: 11 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home with Reverend Ernie Perry Officiating and Bro. Dan Mattingly of New Castle Methodist Church Assisting.

Burial: New Castle Cemetery

Visitation: 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home
