Laverne Sharp, age 78 of Drennon, passed away at her residence on Sunday, September 29, 2024.  Daughter of the late Henry Gaines and Emma Lee (Bailey) Scott, she was the owner/operator of Laverne’s Beauty-Rama in Eminence for 29 years, then worked as custodian for the Henry County Middle School for 17 years. Laverne loved to knit, cook, and go Thrifting!  She was a member of Drennon Christian Church & most recently attended Union Baptist Church.  Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Sharp; a son, Michael Sharp; and a brother, Bobby Scott.

Grandsons:  Andrew Sharp (Montaynna) of Drennon

                   Matthew Sharp (Megan Miller) of Drennon

Granddaughter:     Keila Sharp (Michael Rose) of New Castle

Daughter-In-Law: Kim (Murphy) Sharp of New Castle

Brother:       Jerry Scott of Shelbyville

Life-Long Friend:  Pat Ellis of Shelbyville

Funeral Service:  2 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Shawn Golden.

Visitation:  10 AM until service time on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

Following the Funeral, Laverne will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.
