Charles Thomas “Tommy” Benham, age 84 of New Castle, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Baptist Health LaGrange Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Campbellsburg to Charles Edgar and Laverna (Stewart), he was the 2^nd born of his brothers, Jim and Dennis. Following his career as the Public Works Director for the City of New Castle for 20 years, Tommy was a Deputy Sheriff for the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for 23 years and served as Assistant Fire Chief of the New Castle Fire Department. Tommy also served his community as President of the Henry County EMS District #3.  He was a member of New Castle First Baptist Church for many years. Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Ann (Arnett) Benham; sister, Sarah Elizabeth Benham; brothers, Dennis “Sugarbear” Benham and James “Jim” Benham.

Funeral Service:    11 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Kevin Kimes of New Castle First Baptist Church.
